Over the past two days our teams in Eastbourne attended NAPPI refresher training facilitated by our internal instructor Nicolas. The aim of NAPPI (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) training is to support individuals in distress by using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies. It focuses on improving the quality of life for both the individuals receiving care and those providing it. The practical training in NAPPI (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) focuses on equipping participants with hands-on skills to manage behaviors of concern effectively and empathetically. The training is designed to be person-centered, trauma-informed, and aligned with Positive Behaviour Support principles. It also includes reflective practices like post-incident reviews to foster learning and improve care quality.

Green Thumbs at Work! JP, John Simon and staff took a trip out into the community last Friday, visiting the different shops to pick up soil and seeds as JP was eager to starting planting vegetables and fruits. With the support of staff, JP spent the afternoon in the garden, getting stuck in with planting—something they seemed to really enjoy! John Simon also joined in on the fun, watering the plants and soaking up the sunshine.
